Come, experience life here at Eria Textiles!
Eria Textiles is a leading apparel and workwear producer and a top garment exporter in Albania, operating within the city of Elbasan. The workforce has now grown to over 200 staff, mostly women, many of whom have graduated directly from the Professional School of Elbasan, “Salih Ceka”.
Eria Textiles is extremely proud to see our employment growth rate directly correlated with young students in Elbasan striving to grow their profession. It is an encouragement and motivator for the company as a whole to be operational under the leadership and management of young Albanian women graduates of Salih Ceka.
Featured in direct interviews, are the work-life experience of 3 particular women who have graduated from Salih Ceka, entered the company in a starting role, and have grown in their profession. These women represent the various range and levels of roles within Eria Textiles.
First up is Enkelejda, a Specialist, with just 5 months in the company to date. Enkelejda, 25 years of age, first heard of Eria Textiles when she was attending Salih Ceka, which has a student internship partnership allowing credit for workplace practice. Enkelejda states that she has “grown tremendously” professionally in the short time with the company so far and she was already promoted from her position as a junior specialist. She emphasizes that the appeal within Eria is the “community” factor, to be in a friendly environment with her coworkers as she grows in her profession. As Eria Textiles is over 95% women-staffed, she fully agrees that women are a powerful force in the workplace.
Anisa, a young mother who grew up in the village, is currently a Senior Specialist in the company. The Professional School of Elbasan provided the first introduction to Eria Textiles, and she started with a 3-month practical internship over the summer, where she was introduced to the processes and machinery. Anisa highly values the concept of working in a group atmosphere. Anisa’s advice for the current students at Salih Ceka is to “join Eria to gain work experience, to learn and grow more, and to put into practice what has been taught theoretically at school”. She reflects, “there has been a lot of growth since my first day, and it has been a very satisfying experience”. In Anisa’s particular role, as a Senior Specialist, she states it is vital to learn the various production line processes, the machinery, to keep track of data, and to delegate and train others in what you have learned. She encourages “don’t worry or be timid”, if you are just starting out, as there is “much support, friendliness, and respect”, which allows new employees to grow professionally without hindrance.
Lastly, we have Alma, who represents a senior role in the company.
Alma is a Production Division Supervisor but first started as a junior specialist. Later, she studied the production division machinery and eventually moved up into a supervisor role. Alma also graduated from Salih Ceka, and her initial practical work internship was full-time. She strongly believes that “passion” is the key motivator for her work. Respect for each other and communication with each other. She states that the theory and studies at Salih Ceka prepared her immensely for the practical work at Eria, and it was a very important and connected with each other. Her praises for Eria Textiles include the work conditions foremost, the ambient of work, and the communication with others.
Eria Textiles expresses that they are thankful for these dedicated and talented women who are ever-expanding their professional profile during their years at Eria Textiles. They look forward to motivating the next generation through cooperation with Salih Ceka and encourage the youth to consider Eria Textiles as a beneficial opportunity to grow both in profession and experience.
